Game development and green building two seemingly different fields, but which are now beginning to emerge in the Philippines are now getting its share of attention from software maker Autodesk which has ramped up its programs for these areas in the country. The US-based design software tech firm, which made a name through its flagship product AutoCAD, recently brought into the country gaming professionals, as well as Autodesk green building executives, to share their expertise on eco-friendly structures and game development with local folks.
The event, supported by the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), gathered the country’s top game developers, as it also did in stops in Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Seoul. Online games is the future of electronic gaming and that Filipinos are well-quipped, skills wise, to excel in this discipline.
However, that many companies have attempted to make massively multi-player online games (MMOGs) but failed to launch them. Developing MMOGs is a multi-year endeavor to create a huge explorable world. Aside from creativity, it is important that they equip themselves with technology that allows the entire time to integrate each work onto an inter-operable pipeline.
Autodesk Philippines country manager said Filipinos, whose creativity is known the world over, would do well in the global stage if they can further hone their skills in game development. Little by little, Filipino-made games are reaching par with global standards. We hope not far from now, this segment flourishes to emerge as a steady revenue generator for our economy. The software also recently brought in who told participants in a forum that green buildings are not only more energy-efficient but better designed as well.
